Our 50-year reunion started on Friday with a reunion Mass at St. Joseph’s Church.

Though scheduled for 6:00PM, the Mass was delayed while classmates greated each other and chatted. Father Noel Leslie and the St. Joseph’s Choir waited indulgently for all to take their seats.
The First Reading during the Mass was by Eloica Tillett Smith of PHS; the Responsorial Psalm, by Juanita (Nena) Beeke, née Rudon of PHS; the Second Reading, by Gustavo Dubois of SJC; and the Petitions, by Veronica Jones, née Usher of SJC.
José Perera and Andrew Hulse of SJC took up the collection. Joy Tatum-Haylock and Lydia Balderamos Loskot of SCA and Judith Bodden, née Usher, of PHS presented the gifts.
When Mass was over, classmates sought out friends they hadn’t seen earlier. Some stopped to take photographs. Before long, all hurried off to the individual school mini-reunions.
